About Sophie

From Operations Leader to Your Business Partner

I've spent over two decades building efficient operations, motivated teams, and sustainable growth strategies. Now I'm bringing that hands-on experience directly to small businesses, nonprofits, and entrepreneurs who need practical solutions without the complexity of large consulting firms.

My Track Record

As Vice President of Retail Operations at Bend-Redmond Habitat for Humanity, I transformed a modest volunteer-run operation into the #2 most profitable ReStore in the United States (by community size), generating a 500% increase in sales while building a team that grew from 6 to over 20 employees, and 150 volunteers serving on a routine basis.

In the nonprofit world, leaders have to build the ship while sailing it—there's no luxury of perfect planning or unlimited resources. I did it by understanding every aspect of the operation, implementing systems that actually work, and creating a culture where people want to contribute their best work. Along the way, I managed complex store relocations, integrated operations from affiliate mergers, and maintained steady growth even through a global pandemic.

More recently, I've been deepening my financial expertise through formal accounting and business administration education at Colorado State University Global while supporting a nonprofit startup through its critical first year of operations. This combination of continued learning and hands-on experience with organizational development has sharpened my ability to help businesses navigate both financial complexities and operational challenges during periods of growth and change.

What This Means for Your Business

The same skills that built sustainable growth at Habitat—strategic thinking, financial management, operational efficiency, and team development—are exactly what small businesses need to scale successfully. Whether you're drowning in administrative tasks, struggling to understand your numbers, or ready to grow but not sure how to maintain quality, I've been there.

As one colleague put it, "Sophie works with a blend of passion, energy, skill, heart, and humor... she is able to quickly identify the most important aspect of an issue and address it directly." Another noted my "savviness for numbers" and "understanding of the importance of documentation."

My Approach: Systems That Serve People

I believe in building systems that make work easier, not harder. My approach combines:

  • Big picture strategy with attention to crucial details

  • Financial clarity that drives better business decisions

  • Process optimization that gives you time back for what matters most

  • Technology integration that serves your business goals, not the other way around

Why I Do This Work

After transforming operations for larger organizations, I'm excited to bring that same strategic thinking to businesses where every improvement has immediate, visible impact. I love solving problems! There's something deeply satisfying about helping a business owner reclaim their evenings, understand their cash flow, or finally get organized enough to pursue the growth they've been dreaming about.

I bring integrity, authenticity, and a sense of humor to every engagement. I am truly fulfilled in service and if I am not equipped with the right tools to serve you, I’ll let you know (but I’ll bet we can figure it out).

Ready to Get Started?

Let's talk about where your business is now and where you want it to be. I'll help you build the foundation you need to get there—efficiently, sustainably, and without losing what makes your business uniquely yours.

I don’t think you could find a better person to work with.
